Picture Books
It’s so fun for me to watch my collection of stories grow—just as your child is growing! I LOVE creating stories that feel friendly, exuberant, and warm and fuzzy. (But filled with action too.) The full-color illustrations bring me such joy. My hope is that your child will enjoy my stories and then ask the best question of all:
Small Walt Series
Honk! Honk! Here come the plows! These books explore themes of determination, teamwork, friendship, and community—plus, the heroism of everyday machines and their drivers. Do you have a child who is obsessed with vehicles? And sound effects? Do you root for the underdog? Then meet Small Walt, along with all of his human and wheeled and furry friends.
“The grit of The Little Engine that Could, the nostalgic illustrations of Katy and the Big Snow, and a touch of modernity from an accomplished author and illustrator, combine to become Small Walt.” —School Library Journal
Topic: Autism Spectrum
You may already know that more and more children, teens, and adults are being diagnosed as neurodivergent. And that means we need tools to help support them and their families. My two kids are proudly neurodivergent, and every day I see their struggles and successes, as well as their unique experiences and points of view. These books can help your child feel not just “accepted” but encouraged to be themselves in the wider world.
“Being neurodivergent is a uniquely chaotic experience with a lot of ups and downs. It’s important to know how to deal with the obstacles along the way. Reading can be a lifeline, whether it’s on your own or with a parent. Books help!”—My son Zach

Little Laugh & Learn® Series

When I was first starting out as an editor and a writer, I developed a book series called Laugh & Learn. Little did I know, it would become a classic set of tools for kids, parents, educators, and mental-health specialists. The idea at the time was simple: make age-appropriate self-help books that are funny but filled with useful advice. And then, add cartoons! Next came Little Laugh & Learn for younger children—requested by teachers. If your first, second, or third grader needs some help, check out the Little Laugh & Learn series.
“Laughter is a powerful way to tap positive emotions.”—Norman Cousins
Laugh & Learn® Series

“I purchased all the books from this series to keep in the car so my kids can read them when they are ‘bored’ or on longer commutes. They are illustrated and written in a way that is engaging…and teach them important life skills that should help improve their coping skills, communication skills, patience, cooperation, and more.” —5-Star Amazon review
